Spirulina is a bacterium from the genus of cyanobacteria that occurs in tropical lakes and uses solar energy, minerals from the water and carbon dioxide to grow and multiply. It is rich in green chlorophyll, which it forms through photosynthesis, beta-carotene and the blue-green pigment phycocyanin, minerals and vitamins. Spirulina is particularly rich in calcium, magnesium, iron, selenium and potassium, vitamins A, B, E, enzymes and antioxidants. Unlike microalgae such as chlorella, spirulina does not have cellulose walls, which means that the ingredients can be better absorbed.
Chlorella is a freshwater algae that has a high chlorophyll content, many minerals and vitamins due to its deep green color. Chlorella is said to have a detoxifying effect (which has not yet been proven).
The algae thrive only with water, CO₂ and sunlight, without the pesticides and insecticides commonly used in agriculture, which means they are not contaminated and contribute to an intact environment. We offer the algae in certified organic quality.
