Vitamin C is one of the strongest antioxidants that prevents cell damage from free oxygen molecules. It ensures an intact immune system and increases resistance to all viruses. The body needs it to strengthen and maintain the connective tissue and prevents the development of edema (water collection). Among other things, needed to regulate cholesterol levels, iron absorption in the small intestine, fat burning in the muscles. Chronic inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, rheumatism, allergies, recurring infections, poorly healing wounds and chronic skin diseases have been shown to be associated with vitamin C deficiency and oxidative stress. Vitamin C has to be supplied to the human body every day because it is not stored. Elderly people, smokers, diabetics, alcohol users and people who regularly take aspirin have an increased need.
Rutin a flavonoid occurs naturally with vitamin C and prevents its oxidation. Rutin strengthens and densifies the walls of the capillaries, increases its elasticity, eliminates capillary fragility and membrane permeability, which are noticeable by capillary bleeding and prevents the development of varicose veins and hemorrhoids, and strengthens the cells against bacteria and viruses. Zinc together with vitamin C has an antiviral and detoxifying effect in the cells, the trace element selenium stimulates the formation of immune cells, fights free radicals (has an antioxidant effect). The flavonoids from the citrus fruits also have an antioxidant and immune-boosting effect.
