Because of the many bitter substances, devil's claw has a gall-forming effect and stimulates the appetite and digestion. It has a regulating effect on the stool in the event of diarrhea and constipation, flatulence, reduces elevated uric acid and cholesterol levels, and is a remedy that stimulates lymphatic flow and thus has a detoxifying effect. Due to the sitosterols it contains, devil's claw has a beneficial effect on prostate enlargement.
